Koos’ commandments

Koos’ commandments for growth and innovation
Are you looking for the holy grail of innovation? Have a look at Koos’ innovation commandments and get more out of your innovation efforts!

1. Look at the big (holistic) picture
You can’t grow your business without understanding the bigger context and all stakeholders that play a roll.

2. For all stakeholders

Create value for everyone engaged with your company, don’t just focus on profits.

3. With all stakeholders

Don’t even try doing it by yourself. You need all different perspectives and expertises. Work with multidisciplinary teams.

4. Try, learn… and try again

The best school is learning by doing. Design is an iterative process.

5. Get out there

There is no possible way you can understand your customers (and other stakeholders) from behind your computer. Go and meet them in their environment.

6. Context is king

The needs of your customer (and other stakeholders) will depend on to their (changing) context. Understand their context and you will understand their needs and the role you can play.

7. Do it yourself

The process is as important as the results. Don’t hire a bunch of marketing cowboys going off on an adventure by themselves. Make use of the vast amounts of knowledge that’s already in your company! Just find someone that can facilitate and guide your team through the process.

8. Bring results to life

Too often results end up dusting away in a dark drawer of a desk. Create & visualise the results together with the whole team and you’ll see everyone will start using them.

9. Build durable relationships

Be true to yourself, the company, your stakeholders and your customers. Create value that will last and you’ll build durable relationships that will provide more stability and revenue in the long run.
This is list is a work in progress, so please comment for some feedback! Who knows, we might make it a top 10…
