Koos Strategy Matrix – idea prioritisation tool

Ideas come and go in vast amount of numbers. But how do you know which one will be a winner? How do you know you are not wasting money on a possible failure?

The truth is – you never know for sure. In some markets every 9 out of 10 new products are a failure.

We can help you to minimise the risk and maximise the chances of success. We got some great methods to separate the wheat from the chaff. Ideally we would like to transform every idea into a full concept supported by a solid business case. The more data you have, the better you can predict your chances on success. However, the more you spend on concepts that will be terminated, the less you can spend on the actual products that will make it to market.

There is a fine balance between skinny and obese ideas. We can help you to create a list of criteria so you can prepare and evaluate your ideas. During a cross functional workshop, in which participants from every department are involved (production, sales, marketing, etc…) we’ll plot these ideas on the two axes of our Strategy Matrix. On one hand we’ll be looking to company fit (does the idea fit our brand & can we produce it) and on the other hand we’ll look at the external environment (are there competitors & what is the demand).

Ideas with high/high fit are to be taken forward, ideas with a low company fit might need some more investment & time.

The other ideas are parked – hey, you’ll never know if they will be useful in the future?

In the end you get a pipeline full of ideas, ready to take to the concepting phase.
