The first stage of the new product development process is behind us. We managed to prioritise our ideas and pick out the winners we want to take forward. But what should we do next?
We have our skinny ideas that made it through the selection. Now it is time to turn them into full grown concepts. We need our concepts to be supported by a business plan so we have to add more information to our original ideas. Adding layers also means making choices. We need to steer our idea into the right direction.
To make sure we collect all information needed we use the Koos Concept Statement Sheet (CSS). Every CSS is tailor made, as every market is different. Building blocks of the CSS include; name, tagline, functional benefits, emotional benefits, customer segments, brand, channels, general idea/working principal, production, etcetera…
Our next step will be filling in the Concept Statement Sheets for every concept, and visualise them using 3D presentation drawings. When this is done we can help you create business cases around them, or you can take care of that yourself.
Next steps can also include a final consumer check, to give input to the final packaging and communication design.
All concepts will be printed in a ‘Book of Innovation‘ filled with concepts and a strategic pipe line. Definitely a great aid selling your concepts to your boss, partners and retailers.
